DC-DC converter module - High quality?
« on: April 24, 2019, 05:47:24 am »
Hello

I needed a DC-DC low ripple 3-5A converter module, but with quality components (caps, inductors,...).
Where could I find some with decent quality?

ebay/aliexpress is crowded  with Chinese modules but I don't trust the specs announced.

Vicor is a good brand, very compact also -- but you'll pay for it.

I forget if they make anything that small actually.  There are plenty of other major brands, in any case.

I don't know offhand any that are specifically low ripple.  You are expected to add filtering yourself, as need.  (Many don't even have the required bypass capacitors onboard!)

There are many in Digikey . I am sure you can find many that suits your application. You can get them in very easy to use DIP packages too.
