Hello all, I'm trying to help my neighbor's son, who has autism, which his paper model airplane. He would like to have the propeller be powered so he doesn't have to rely on the wind to turn it. My thought was to use a 12v DC motor and a 9 volt battery. The part which confuses me is what to use to control the speed of the propeller. He only wants it to turn slowly and he usually cares the plane with him around Disneyland. Any help with this project would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks it advance

Andrew

Benta:
12 V motor and 9 V battery for a paper plane? Sounds to me like it would drop like a stone. Or am I misunderstanding "paper plane" here?

I found these for you on amazing, I know that make a bunch of small light lithium batteries that last forever. You can put a pot inline to adjust the speed and a switch to turn it on and off.

I guess you could say it's make more out of cardstock than paper. It's very sturdy but it's not meant to fly or anything. He just carries it around. The motor and other parts will sit on a balsa wood bottom.

What would I use to control the speed of the motor. Could I use PWM like this one from amazon (uniquegoods 1803BKW 1.8v 3v 5v 6v 7.2v 12v 2A 30W DC Motor Speed Controller (PWM) Adjustable Driver Switch)
