I need a good, linear based power supply design. I have a simple LM317 connected according to the datasheet, but I would like to improve it with a rotary encoder and error amplification, and constant current. Any suggestions and part numbers are very much appreciated. I mainly do digital, so this is not my domain.

Worse yet, following a link for a schematic or YouTube guide, and realizing that you've just clicked on the electronics equivalent to "Two Girls, One Cup".
