| DC005 for high current applications? Other plugs? |
| (1/1) |
| ivoras:
While looking at the construction of DC-005 and similar sockets (female side), it looks like there's pretty much a single point of contact for the current to flow at least on the outer layer of the plug. Would that kind of construction hold e.g. 5 A to 10 A of current (12 V)? Any other suggestions for an easy, wide-spread plug which could be used? |
| ledtester:
This catalog page suggests that all of the low-voltage DC power jacks are rated 0-30V, 1-3A. http://www.peterparts.com/CatalogPages/65/1461.pdf For high current you might consider XT-30 or XT-60 connectors or Deans connectors all commonly used in the RC community. |
