Descriptions of feedback systems-terminology
« on: February 09, 2020, 12:28:24 am »
Hi friends,
Let's discuss different terminologies of the description of amplifiers with feedback. This will help me systematize and refresh my knowledge. I am familiar with both Russian and Western terminology in this area from different eras. And they differ both in epochs and in principle.
1) So, the term feedback depth. It can be expressed in decibels and percentages. How to calculate? What's the point?
2)The term feedback coefficient. Also called the feedback factor. I think it's the same thing, right? The feedback factor is expressed by the formula (1+A*beta). Russian notation (1+K*beta).
What these letters mean and what the sign depends on I know, you can not explain it. But for some reason in the earlier literature I find the term coefficient, and in the newer literature it is a factor. I want to be sure that it's the same thing.

The term feedback depth is used in Western countries? Maybe it's cause you have a misunderstanding?
