Designing a better multimeter video concern
« on: June 22, 2020, 02:18:47 am »
Hello,

I am interested in Designing a better multimeter video link:
But i was confused in the part where we need to switch the mosfet on and off.
Depending on dave we could switch the mosfet from external uC for example but the 5V or 3.3V logic will have a GND level at the gate different than the source so do that will cause problem in switching the mosfet how we could solve this kind of problem?

Thanks

Others correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that since MOSFETs are voltage controlled devices, the extra resistance to ground doesn’t change the voltage present at the gate. It’ll just limit current, meaning the gate capacitor will charge more slowly, which will make no difference in this application.
