Copper Wire Disappearing
« on: May 31, 2021, 02:03:26 am »
Hello,

I am shopping for a new roll of 24 AWG and 28 AWG copper wire.  The electronic stores near my place all went under.  So, Amazon it is.  To be my surprise, Amazon does not list 28 AWG copper wire anymore.  Do you know the reason 28 AWG disappears?

Thanks!

I am sure it is just another manifestation of the supply chain disruptions that are occurring because of trade wars and COVID.  Why would you make 28 gauge wire when the demand for 12 and 14 gauge is through the roof and commanding outrageous prices, just like almost every other building material.

Ah!  I see why Amazon does not list 28 AWG wire in the page.  Amazon only shows the items the "featured" brands are selling.  None of the "featured" brands sells any 28 AWG wire.  That's why 28 AWG is not listed.

Try Skycraft Surplus in Winter Park, FL.

Amazon is useless for stuff like this, I don't know why so many people buy electronic components and such from them. All Electronics, Marlin P. Jones, and several other smaller operations like that are much better choices. Try Amazon if you need something for your kitchen or bathroom.

It appears that copper is a very precious and scarce material, so we needs to use Chinese rotten silumin wires instead  :D
