Desperate - identifying smt component - please help.
« on: October 14, 2021, 07:36:47 am »
Hello,

Ive been trying to identify a smd component in friendĀ“s shaver that Im repairing.

It seems to be a voltage regulator in SOT89 (according to measurements). As it has burnt I cant really read all of the markings on the component.

It seems it begins with 2 0 X "delta marking" 6. (x represents the one I can not read, there may be 2 markings as well).

Shaver is a Braun Syncpro 7785, of which I have not found a service manual online. Shaver has 12V 400mA charger and two internal 1.2V NiMh batteries.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

I include a photo.

If you are desperate, post:

1. Picture where components are visible good
2. Pictures of both sides of PCB where tracks are visible good (try light from behind)
3. Mark battery, motor and any other connections

It is likely easier to understand what it does and replace with generic part then to find this exact one.

Hint: Friends don't offer to repair friends' shavers (particularly*) - they are rarely grateful enough to justify the time (and time constraint), organic debris, and hassle.  ;)

Edit: * This probably applies to all 'personal care' items.

If it is a good friend why not save yourself the trouble and buy them a new one?

For 25-30 dollars it is hardly worth the trouble.
