Determine LCD Pinout

(1/1)

codingwithethanol:
Hey, I recently disassembled a clock radio that i don't need, and salvaged the LCD from it. I've gotten pretty far in figuring out how to drive it, but i'm at a loss as to what to try next.

I connected each pin to an Arduino and sent an alternating pattern of high and low with the pin to test inverted, per this suggestion:
https://electronics.stackexchange.com/a/56987
Basically if you want to see which segments are connected to pin 5, you put pin 5 high and the rest low, then pin 5 low and the rest high, over and over.

Here is the video showing the output cycling through test pins:

Here is a gallery with easier on the eyes images of screen states 2-17:

State 1 is literally nothing. Also as you can see in the video, the cluster of icons at the bottom is on in every state, so I removed the cluster from every photo except the last one.

I noticed that the "B" only appears in states 2 and 17, obviously pins 2 and 17 drive that segment but how do I handle this so that none of the other segments light?
