Did Xilinx ever make a DIP CPLD?
« on: December 26, 2024, 01:33:24 am »
I have the full Xilinx ISE client and the JTAG cable (both USB and the parallel port version. I am looking for a 5 volt DIP CPLD or possibly a 5 volt SMD CPLD already attached to a DIP carrier. CPLD doesn't have to be very sophisticated, something simple is o.k. 2XC64?

I doubt it.
Didn't Xilinx buy the CPLD designs from Philips? (about two decades ago). Even then, DIPs were essentially obselete for new chips. I don't recally any Philips CPLDs in DIP format.

There was a DIP version of the smaller XC2000s, but that's a 40 year old chip.  Doubt your tools support it, and it's a couple of orders less featureful than the 2XC64.  You'll have much better luck finding a recent-ish SMD chip bonded to a DIP breakout board; they're everywhere.  The problem is 5V I/O is increasingly uncommon.
