Hello All,
As I've posted previously, I'm working on a solar panel controller for a class project. My portion is the buck converter that inputs the voltage from the panel and outputs the correct voltage for the battery.
The number of mosfets and mosfet drivers on digikey is frankly overwhelming, and I really don't know where to start other than picking one at random (is that what people do?) I was hoping someone could throw me a couple of recommendations of parts that maybe they've used in the past, just so I have somewhere to start.
Or maybe there really isn't much difference between them? In that case, is there a brand you prefer?
The only real constraint so far is that it be able to switch at ~100Khz. I think I need it to be high-side, as well (at least, that's how I've designed it.)
The mosfet is easier for me to find, since I can narrow the listings down on digikey quite a bit, but recommendations would also be appreciated. including safety margins, I'm looking for something that can handle ~4A and ~25V. I was thinking something like this:
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/stmicroelectronics/STD150N3LLH6/497-8889-1-ND/2071115 although it might be overkill.
Thanks!
