DIY Build Oscilloscopes
« on: March 21, 2024, 07:17:21 pm »
I have searched through youtube but cant seem to find if Dave has done any reviews of DIY build oscilloscope kits. He might have got one as a mailbag. I think it would be a nice topic to build and review some on teh EEVblog. I imagine that their accuracy and functions are limited but as a learning tool they have their place I think. I want to build one into a DCC model railway panel so I can see various signals, wave forms, cbus signals etc.

A lot of the DIY contraptions are often some uC with a display. Most (almost) completely skip the frontend. I do sort of like the Yje Tech DSO Shell a bit. It even has a frontend (with some analog muxes) and if the triggering was better, and the thing was less buggy, then I'd even give it a thumbs up.

There are some of these on Hackaday, but the maker from the Xprotolab has been collecting info on a bunch of these and listed them on https://www.gabotronics.com/resources/hobbyists-oscilloscopes-menu.html
