Does anyone from the EU have any experience with ordering from LCSC?

I was about to order from LCSC and I realized that VAT is not collected with my order. The order is below 15$ but still i'm worried about the time it will take. From what i've read around forums, the "Global direct standard line" shipping method has been ok for some users. What has your experience been like?

If LCSC doesn't collect VAT (and they don't seem to), it will be collected at customs and an extra processing fee may be charged too. I would expect similar things in all of the soyuz.

Dunno how it woks but when I ordered with "global direct standard line" several times, no VAT was charged during checkout and none was charged on delivery  . And the weird part is that they actually charge VAT for this shipping method on JLCPCB (their sister company).

BTW if you order parts on LCSC while you have PCB order in production at JLCPCB, you get a shipping discount on LCSC. Or it least it was the last time I ordered a few months ago. Just order fast as discount disappears the moment PCB get shipped.

April 2023, $ 32.38 order, no additional costs. It came by local post. I wasn't even at home then.

this year, I ordered some $60 at seeedstudio (same country as lcsc) to france. VAT was not mentionned on the order, and I did not pay anything more at arrival.

I ordered on 27th of March 2024 from LCSC, just a small order of ~13 USD.
I selected Global Direct Standard Line shipping (with no mention of IOSS or VAT) to an address in the Netherlands.

The package arrived 8th of April and was delivered when I wasn't home, didn't have to pay any additional costs.

I wonder if it actually is IOSS declared, or if this is just a "crack in system" that these packages manage to slip through.

I ordered $30 from lcsc in january, and it came to my door quickly with no more charges.
