Hi everyone,
i have some trouble with the Cockpit-Display of my new chinese EV. It produces vertical stripes instead of a the fancy graphics.
The picture now look like a defective T-Con-Board on a LED TV.
I have already disassembled the unit but i cannot remove the flat flex cable because i never see a connector like this.
Can someone tell the trick to unlock this thing or did i just need to pull the cable hard enough?
Thx in advance
Thom

Dunno. Does the white part pull straight back (away from the flex)?
-
Does the metal part move away from the flex to unlock it?
-
Never seen that before, but my guess is that metal bar on the back gets pushed, pulled, or flipped to unlock.
-
Yeah, the metal part looks like it was pushed in onto the plastic part to lock everything. So it looks like the metal part gets pulled straight back (not up).

It seems to me the metal part can be flipped. If it moves - it usually moves pretty easily, so it has to be easy to check it.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
The metal bar has to be pushed towards the ribbon cable.
It releases a locking mechanism wich locks the two outer indents at the end of the cable.
You also have to push it when re-inserting the cable.
This is a very solid connection. But the connector itself is weak, so you are at risk of tearing it apart when pulling the metal bar into the wrong direction.

I would not have guess that, given that it doesn't look like there is any room in that direction.
