What is this component? Three leads and a "332" label. Voltage regulator?

I don't know what this device does. The picture tells you everything I know. I have several hundred, so knowing will save them from the trash.

My guess is something from Unisonic based on the UT marking.

Thank you everyone for the input. I will see if I can get one to behave like a hall effect sensor this weekend. I'll keep you posted.
