Dump MX29LV flash memory?
« on: November 16, 2024, 03:31:27 am »
I would like to pull the firmware from a MX29LV flash memory chip. Anyone know how this could be done? Attached is a picture of the device PCB. Arrow points to the MX29LV. Chip data sheet [url]https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/819/MX29LV640E_T_B_2c_3V_2c_64Mb_2c_v1_7-3370947.pdf/url].

Would love to know what the connections in the yellow circle could be if anyone knows.

With Xgecu T48 or T56 and BGA48 adapter, no problem. You remove it. You stick it into adapter. Get the dump. Then you reball it, no stencil needed, just microscope and individual balls will do. Reflow back into its home.
Adapter is ADP-BGA48-0.8 for T48 & T56

Here is wiring schematic

There are no instructions on how to connect it via ISP cable.

Thanks for this information. Unfortunately if removing the chip is the only option I will not be attempting this. I don't have the skills or tools needed and this is not the project to learn on. I thought just maybe the pads around the chip or the pads in the circle were for some sort of communication with the chip.
