Title: Eagle wants to Autoroute on 2 Layers
Post by: kolbep on September 14, 2014, 09:36:55 pm
Hi

I am designing a Single Sided board on Eagle for SMD Parts.
In the Layers menu, I have deleted the Bottom layer, so that everything will be on the top layer.
I then try autorouting, which only shows the top layer in the options. But when I run it, it makes blue and red traces, and plenty of Vias (between 11 and 20).

I have even set via's cost to 99, as well as max vias for each optimisation to 1.
But it still does the same.

Am I right that for SMD I must be using the top copper layer,
and how can I stop it from Autorouting 2 layers??

In the end I might just do manual routing, because the autorouting looks ugly!

1. Don't use autorouter, try do it by hand.
2. If you using autorouter, disable routing on bottom layer: AUTOROUTER ICON -> GENERAL -> on left BOTTOM -> set it to N/A
