Connector options JST, RJ11,RJ45 guidance
« on: January 08, 2024, 09:18:38 am »
Hi,

One of my project (DIY/Research) designs need a reliable connector for 6 signals (PWR,GND, PWM1...PWM4), 100-200mA Max.

I am not sure about cable length yet other than its will probably be less then  0.25-0.5m.

The connection has to be secure, considering the PWM signals will each go from a controller card to the power conversion card, where a buffer is placed before reaching a gate driver daughter card, this will in turn control 4 fets in a 3L NPC leg.

What are the recommendations? originally i was thinking RJ45 but i realised it might be to bulky? i was thinking RJ11 with 6pin, flat cable as it looks neat. But JST might be more versatile? i need to get the tools for which ever i choose.

Molex Picoblade is what I've tended to use for this sort of thing.
