Title: Extech EX430 uA Current Measurement Problem
Post by: 48X24X48X on April 25, 2011, 03:41:16 am
Hi Everyone,

Recently, I got myself an Extech EX430.
After using for a month, I ran into some problem today when using it to measure uA current.
I was measuring for few hours and it was fine showing some current like 22 uA. Then suddenly it only shows OL.
I opened up the meter and checked the fuse, both are okay.
I look for any possible burn components, but couldn't find any really.

I thought of getting some opinions before sending them for warranty.
Thank you.

This might sound a stupid question, but did you try mA range? Microamps range shows OL when your current exceeds 4mA so if the current is really above the scale for microamps you should get a sensible reading on milliamp range.

I was measuring very low power application which I already managed to push it down to ~22uA.
Weird is, I didn't make any changes to the measured device that it suddenly when OL.
Let me double check again.
