Title: Farnell D30 2 project finished
Post by: M0BSW on April 27, 2013, 07:00:13 am
I bought this of ebay, a Farnell D30 2, 30volt 2 amp variable power supply, which was a bit of an old wreck, shall we say some sellers must be photographers showing things in their best light.
Any way got it eventually, and it wasn't in good shape, so I change some part ,no alot of parts, cleaned it up, gave the outer case a paint.
Taking my New pride and joy down to a  small calibration centre ,where I know the owner, he let me calibrate it, that was a good experience, and a really good lesson, now I have a fully calibrated really useful 0-30 by 2amp variable bench power supply, plus I've found something I really enjoy doing, getting old equipment and bringing it back from the edge of the junkbox, just got to find a manual for it now and learn how to use it.. I think these must be 20/30 years old ? and I wonder what it would have cost.

PS Dave is right , you do have to get the tongue in the right position and squint , makes all the difference :-DD

Oh, that's a lovely thing!  :-+  Nice work!

You simply can't beat old equipment.  Much sexier!

Thank You ,it looked a bit sorry for it's self when I got it, the chips on the inside date it as 1980, I'm really pleased with it.
