FET driver IC's with two Vcc and two ground pins question

(1/1)

Chris Wilson:
Sorry, I am here again, don't worry, I will be back to work next week ;) I am implementing a pair of faster and more powerful FET drivers in a Class D MF RF Amp. The blurb shows different versions, some with one vcc and one ground and some with two of each. Is it vital to use both of the grounds and Vcc pins in the packages that have them, or are they there to give more flexible routing options please? The data sheet for them is linked below, it's too big to attach. Thanks. I want to use either
IXDD614 PI / SI  or  IXDI614 PI / SI the difference one has an enable pin and one has not got one.

Psi:
Multiple pins should always be connected together externally, unless the datasheet explicitly says otherwise.

I don't think i've ever seen a IC where it's ok to use the pins to make routing easier.

With regard to fets, the extra pins are usually there to allow for higher current flow, and for better heat sinking ability.
