| find max dc offset of function generator given the peak to peak voltage setting |

Hi, I'm writing matlab scripts to send commands to a Rigol dg1022z. I'm trying to idiot proof the matlab script by checking input types and bounds. I've been successful for all inputs (the command, frequency, amplitude, channel) but not for dc offset. Now the dg1022z can have a peak to peak voltage from 20V to 2mV. The absolute value of the dc offset is limited to what the peak to peak voltage is. For example, if the peak to peak voltage is set to 20V then the no dc offset is allowed. If the peak to peak voltage is 2mV then the the absolute value of the max dc offset is 9.999 V. Without taking hand measurements, does anyone know an equation that I can use to solve for max dc offset given the current peak to peak voltage setting? |

oh wait now im thinking of it. 20V p2p means the amplitude is 10 volts. So the absolute value of the offset and half peak to peak setting must be less than or equal to 10V. |
