Find That Connector!
« on: September 19, 2012, 11:15:22 pm »
I remember a circular wire connector that screwed on to a threaded female jack. Can anyone point out that connector? Or another with a locking capability so it doesn't come unplugged?

You can't expect any help when you give no details of what you are talking about.  :(

Not sure what you're asking (good description would really help, pics even better), but if it's something like a DIN locking connector (M5 ... 7/8"), you might want to take a look at Binder's connector products (http://www.binder-usa.com/).

I don't have much to give, but I was looking for a cable connector capable of transmitting a digital signal both ways in order to interface with a microcontroller. It's going to be attached to a moving object. It has to disconnect, and I though I remembered a connector that either locked to the socket, or had a screw type connector. Banana sockets are not quite right, as I want the male end to have a connector for easy deattachment/reattachment.

Thanks

Something like this? http://uk.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg01590/socket-multipole-4way/dp/1280756

You can get them in 2/3/4/5/6 pin versions at least. Generic and cheap, screw locking, strain relief etc. Panel mount, or in-line.
