FLIR One Gen 3 ITAR Restrictions
« on: October 18, 2021, 11:38:59 pm »
Hello, I'm curious if the FLIR One Gen 3 camera which is an Un-Cooled Thermal Video Camera with a Video Frame Rate of 8.7Hz (Less than 9Hz) is subject to ITAR export limitations.

Thank you to whoever clarifies my doubt.

Huh:

Anyway, I don't know.  If you want to buy one, the best way is to find a local authorized distributor so that you are not involved in exporting (although deemed exports are a thing).  They should know and have completed whatever paperwork is needed.  If you are trying to sell them, or want to buy them in the US and ship them internationally then you will also need an export lawyer.

As near as I can tell, such cameras are ITAR listed, but they are allowed to be sold to most countries except for a few.  But I don't know what documentation/paperwork is needed or advised when doing so.

Also, just as a general advise, don't buy a FLIR One. We have a few FLIR One Pro Gen 3 at work, the user experience and hardware compatibility can be described as ... intentionally infuriating.
I'd recommend the Thermal Expert Q1.
