Full Adder Issues
(1/1)
ziptol:
I've been working on a full adder and just finished building it out on a breadboard, but have been having some issues. It only works some of the time, to the point where I put in an input and get the correct output, switch it, then put it back and get a different output. I'm pretty sure it has to do with my cheapo breadboard, but the prospect of soldering all of this onto perf-board is hardly enticing. I just wanted to check to see that my circuit SHOULD work and there's no flaws that could be causing this before I solder it all.

Thanks!

For example, let's look at Q1 and Q2 and their surrounding resistors first. Assume R24 and R8-R11 are disconnected for now. For each of the 4 input combinations, what voltage will you see across R3? Try to figure it out without the breadboard first, then measure results from the breadboard. Can you explain the discrepancies? Do you notice any patterns?
