I'm a little leery of the 6A current capability. Suspicion is based on other products making unrealistic claims.
Switching speeds of IGBts are quite a bit slower than MOSFETs . Typical IGBTs range from 20Khz to 80Khz. Where as MOSFETs will range much higher
The 555 timers can very. The TLC555 has a maximum frequency of around 2Mhz and the XTR655-D goes as high as 4Mhz. Aside from maximum supply voltages they are both drop in replacements for the NE555
