Hi Guys
Nice to meet you all
I have a query that perhaps you guys can answer
I am a market trader and looking to get a gazebo heater for the coming winter months, something similar to this 'All Seasons Gazebos 500W x 4 Bulb (2,000W) Electric Gazebo/Patio Heater with Extra Long 5m Wire'
https://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Seasons-Gazebos-Electric-Gazebo/dp/B08SWD5VPC/ref=asc_df_B08SWD5VPC&mcid=a7e31b5a393b3c24bfa4fc8ed688ef75?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80608047672862&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584207588840590&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Seasons-Gazebos-Electric-Gazebo/dp/B08SWD5VPC/ref=asc_df_B08SWD5VPC&mcid=a7e31b5a393b3c24bfa4fc8ed688ef75?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80608047672862&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584207588840590&psc=1)
Does anyone know if this would be a good purchase or recommend one.
Also I want to power it with a portable battery, what one would I need that is compatable that would run the heater for at least 6 hours and quick to charge
Thanks
Dave

thats gonna be a big battery

Generating heat takes a ton of energy.
Generating heat outside where it just radiates away and there's nothing to contain it takes a shit ton of energy.
Probably need 15kWh battery, just to get the 12kWh you need plus some extra for the efficiency losses.
To put that into context, its about 20% of a Tesla battery or 50% of a Nissan Leaf battery.
Trying to charge a 15kW battery pack quickly wont be easy.
It would talk 7-8 hours from a normal 230V 2.4kW wall socket.
Maybe you can find a very large portable battery power station that has a electric vehicle charging plug on it. But I've never seen one.

god damn thats a nice gazebo. I guess it would have a generic green power company looking box nearby with the battery and some underground cables for charging? A emergency gazebo?
or a intermittently used solar gazebo?

A gas heater would be much more practical.
I wouldn't bother. It's not practical to heat a gazebo. The insulation is too poor. Wear lots of extra layers.
-
You need a gasoline or diesel generator to run these. Battery will be too large and expensive. Direct heating from combustible fuel of course would be more efficient, however I'm not sure if there any combustion heaters which would provide directed IR instead of just pointlessly heating the air.

IR heater is not pointless. It mostly heats surfaces rather than air.

I think the question is if you can afford it. its a cool gazebo.

They exist.

many markets dont allow gennys due to elf n stasi fears, theres often a supply available for stuff like lights but good luck getting more than a few amps.

its the future. gazebo were always some how tricked out to be expensive.
I can see a relaxing electric gazebo being built by a rich guy that can afford the power source and solar panels. that propane heater looks suitable for a construction site. I don't think you will feel like you are 'chilling' by that propane heater :-DD
you need to think relaxing aesthetics with gazebos that is their purpose.
For instance, the 100k a year country club you don't go to might be interested in the thread starters idea. Like on the golf coarse.

2x EcoFlow DELTA Pro Portable Power Station + kit to get 240V for $5100
2x EcoFlow DELTA Pro Smart Extra Battery for $1800
14kwh total, and they have/can be adapted to charge at EV charging points, so install 2 at your charging location
I have no idea how good they actually are, they have a rather large YouTube advertising budget which makes me dubious in general.
$7k later, you can run your £120 heaters.
-
$7K would pay for a lot of LPG tank refills for gas heaters.
The only way battery power makes sense here is if you already had an electric car that supports powering external devices.
Then you could run electric heaters for 6 hours no problem and still have plenty of charge left to drive the car to the nearest charging station the next day.

golf carts can power it
