Good soldering station + hot air for under 100€?
ArnauVF4:
Hi, I have always been soldering with a crappy 15€ soldering iron, and I now want to solder more advanced things and do it better. I have a maximum 100€ budget, what should I buy?
I've seen this in amazon and i think its good enough.

Thanks

It's almost certainly better than what you have. Maybe even adequate for your needs. You're not going to get "good" on that budget.

I never recommend those combined units. They are almost always inferior to separate tools, and you will use the soldering iron WAY more often than the hot air station. My advice would be to buy a decent soldering station now, and then save up for an inexpensive hot air station later if you need one.

What soldering station do you recommend then? Thanks

Although most of my soldering is done with Weller (ones with fuses!) I’ve had one of these rebadged under a different name for about eight or nine years. I still use it very regularly, particularly the hot air, for production rework. I estimate I’ve replaced around 1,500 QFNs with it. I haven’t ever had to change any elements. The iron takes Hakko bits.
