grounding schemes for portable battery powered devices

(1/1)

rakeshm55:
Hi,
I am developing a battery powered system (28V Battery) which has RF modules and Baseband modules. The only power source is battery.

As of now ground of each modules comes in contact with the enclosure.

Is there any recommended schemes for portable devices?? What are the aspects to be covered for grounding to obtain better EMI/EMC performance.??

Any documentation covering this aspect.

Zero999:
The metal enclosure is often connected to the negative of the battery, to prevent a large voltage difference from occurring between the electrical system and the chassis. In some cases, the enclosure is connected to the battery via a high impedance or over voltage protection devices such as MOVs or diodes. As a general rule of thumb, it's not good design practise to use the case as a return current path.
