Hey guys ive recently purchased a hakko fx-888 off amazon because i had a gift voucher for there and didnt really need anything else. Anyway im looking for a suitable transformer to run this thing on 230v that will fit insite the casing. Ive seen a few guys on these forums have done it and im wondering where abouts they sourced there transformer from.

Internal (replacement) transformer or external?
What country are you in (Oz or Godzone)?

Hi im in oz would like an internal one if i can get it cheap enough would prefer not to run it through a bulky external

Find the right one, too high voltage will cause the heater to fail prematurely.

The external transformers do not have to be too bulky. If you want one just big enough for the soldering iron, this one should do:

I think you can get them cheaper on ebay.
