| Hall effect sensor for measuring AC mains current ? |

I have some Hall effect sensors from ebay but supposedly these https://www.elecrow.com/download/A3141-2-3-4-Datasheet.pdf I've never done anything with them before, how good of a AC mains current meter can be made, to be used like a kill-a-watt meter |

Those look like they're just open collector switches. This will not give you an analog VDC output proportional to the magnetic field. It's either GND or floating. From the datasheet : --- Quote ---OPERATION : The output of these devices (pin 3) switches low when the magnetic field at the Hall element exceeds the operate point threshold (BOP). At this point, the output voltage is VOUT(SAT). When the magnetic field is reduced to below the release point threshold (BRP), the device output goes high. --- End quote --- |

The Schmitt trigger driving the output transistor is a pretty good indicator that this will be an on/off type of device. |
