Hi guys,
I have some questions to ask, I've been searching over the net to find the answer but w/o success. I've been searching this forum for answers but no success here, too. This forum looks like a good source of knowledge so i hope someone will come up with the answers.
I bought Hantek 6022be DSO and by looking at it and at the interface looks like there is no option to connect to it a Current Clamp (AC/DC CC-65 for example), do you know is it possible to connect current clamp to that dso?
On hantek 1008c you can from the drop-down menu on corresponding channel choose the current clamp as a input probe, but on 6022be there is no such option. So is that a matter of software only or? I see there are alternative software for that hantek dso, is it possible to connect cc using those softwares?
Since 6022be has dc coupling only, can you still use ac part of the current clamp? Can you make some sort of ac coupling externally?
Thanks.
Yes, you can connect the current clamp to your scope, there is absolutely no problem. The clamp works converting current to a proportional voltage value that is read by the oscilloscope, the only thing that the 1008C software does is that it conveniently converts back this value to show you the current in amperes. With the 6022BE software you have to do this simple conversion in your head.
For alternative software options you should check the thread linked by Cliff.
Regarding the coupling, you can get AC coupling by simply connecting a small capacitor in series with your probe.

Thanks guys, i knew i will get the answers here.
I was thinking the same but wasn't sure. So do you have to use ac coupling with the ac part of the cc? If i buy that cc-65 will i be able to measure ac current since the 6022be supports only dc coupling? Do you know for sure which software will do the conversion and show amp on the screen instead of volts (not a big deal but...)? I checked the thread linked by cliff but still couldn't figure out which software to use.
Yes, you will be able to measure AC signals with only DC coupling. I would highly recommend you this video
https://youtu.be/Hkq-fvb5-NI there is a lot of very good information in this guy's channel, definitely worth spend some time exploring its videos
The only software for Hantek devices that I know of that will show the value in amps using the cc-65A is the software for the 1008C and 6074BE scopes.
Thanks. I appreciate the straight and clean answers.
