hdmi to vga or other analog format

Hi,
does anybody know of an easy method for converting an HDMI signal to an analog format (VGA,SCART,S-VIDEO)?

There is no easy way, unfortunately. The HDMI digital signal is encrypted when it comes from HD sources and there is no way to get the raw video data out of it without decrypting it. There is a box you can buy that will generate the RGB signals for you, but it costs ~$200. Cheap, easy or home brew solutions don't exist unless you are content with standard definition signals.

What would be easier to sample, VGA or CVBS?

I'm thinking CVBS because of the diferent resolutions for the VGA. Right?
