mattsully:
I have an electronic lock with touchpad rated for 3V and my USB powerpack keeps draining all batteries (4 AA 1.5V) within 24-48 hrs.

What is interesting, is that locks I have supplied of the same design have functioned well for years...I am assuming there is leakage occurring somewhere in the PCBA.

Gyro:
Welcome to the forum,

I suspect that you're going to need to give much more detail - internal photos, schematic, data etc. before anyone can help you, which I'm sure we will be more than willing to do.

P.S. Just a hint to get you going on the forum, just look down the list of thread titles and compare the number that just say 'Help' with the ones that give something relevant to the topic. You can change it by editing your original post and just changing the title text.  ;)
Brumby:
Indeed, welcome to the forum.

I can only support what Gyro has said... but there is no suspicion about needing more details - it is a certainty.  Even somebody intimately familiar with such locks will need some sort of additional information to know what lock you are talking about.  The rest of us may be able to work out how the lock works and what might be worth checking if you give us something to look at.  Photos are good, schematics are too (if you can get them).

I will also suggest a better thread title.  Something like "Help: Electronic lock drains batteries too quickly" will actually attract the attention of someone who might know a thing or two about electronic locks.  As suggested, you can go to the first post you made, click on the "Modify" button and type in a new subject line.  It is the subject line of this first post that gets used for the title of the thread.
