Help identify IC
« on: January 17, 2020, 09:36:28 pm »
Hi,

Once again, I am in need of help identifying the IC in the below picture.
Two such components are found in the input section of a bench meter (Gossen Metratop 52) and I'm trying to figure out what they're supposed to do.

Thank you!

May be this?

https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/6768/NEC/UPC4556G2.html

There is a link for the data sheet on that page. Not sure if it is the one.

I was thinking it's a dual mosfet like https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/NTMD4840N-D.PDF because of pins 2 and 4 could be gates 5 to 8 look like they are on the same wide trace .Could be drain ?

Thank you both for looking into this!

I too think it is likely a mosfet, but I'll try to confirm.

Try to trace the pin out/nearby circuitry and then you will get a better idea of what it should be.

Do you think it's faulty? If so, why?

Main reason I'm asking is I'm trying to understand that part of the circuit.
Also, once I understand what that component is and where it fits in the circuit, I would like to determine if it is working or not.

And I found the actual component: HAT2016R - a dual N channel mosfet.

Thank you all for your pointers!

[...] I looked everywhere.

Same here, until I realized I had the schematics for the Gossen Metrahit 25/26 (shared in confidence by Gossen).
And guess what they had around the input section?
So, I cheated a bit.
