Help identifying component, Voltage regulator?
« on: March 29, 2024, 04:19:03 am »
Hi , the component in the picture attached is shorted and I need to change it. I cant find any data sheet for IC16C. The marking in the board reads VR1, so I believe it is a voltage regulator. But what type?.

Thank you all in advance.

PD. the component is in an old IPOD Hifi speaker.

Hello, maybe this TPS76316DBVT?
Does the pin diagram match or not?

Be aware that the source of the short may be after the regulator.

CapDon, I used a thermo camera and this component is getting hot. Makes alcohol evaporate right away.

But It will get hot if there's a short at the output.

I will remove the two components that gets hot one at a time and recheck to find out which one of the two it is shorted.

Muchas gracias.

Marking "IC" could be a "RT9167-27CBR":

Don't crop the image so much, the surrounding parts can give some hints.
