help me identify this PSU board...
« on: February 22, 2024, 05:51:36 pm »
can someone plz help me to find from what this powersupply board actually came from. I got this powersupply board inside from a rip-off replacement powersupply of my water filter. so what is the actual specs of this powersupply board. I dont have much info about this board. its a 24v powersupply. I am not sure if they modified it to produce 24v. the powersupply dont like to run for a long time as the mosfet explodes every time under stress... i had a long time searching it on google lens, still no info...

trash this psu  and try at least an 3 amp  24v  psu

you see only one big rectifier diode on the transformer output  ...  witch i doubt it would endure an continuous 3 amp

want to play safe say 5amp  ...   don't buy  china crap,  go with  meanwell or serious brand

i know it could be costly  but  eh  ....

and to do your tests  the best would be  to try an variable psu  with volt and current meter,  you could see the real values  needed ....

PSU boards like the are as numerous and various as the products they're put into. Tracking down a published schematic is virtually impossible even if a brand name is available. This is what is called "proprietary" or exclusive right of the manufacturer that produces the product it's used for.
Difficult to say if it's been modified unless you look at the solder joints. Specifically around the feedback opto-coupler PC1. But just at a glance the unit looks to be at best 2-3 amp.

It's low part count for sure. Anything on the bottom side ? What does the load need ?

the "only one big rectifier" was put up by me. originally it had a smaller rectifier which gets really hot, desolders and shorts itself on operation. anyway i rewound the coil with a much thinner copper and it seems to handle that. usually chinese ones come with aluminum coil
