Help with old radio and electronic equipment
(1/1)

Hey all.

I got a great deal on a haul of equipment that a woman a few towns over wants to get rid of. Turns out her dad was a radio engineer. Most of it I knew what it was already what it was such as an O-scope, resistor substitution box, ect. but there are some bits that I could use a little help figuring out what they are and what kind of use I could get out of them. The frist 3 photos I have no clue what they are. Then the other photos i was able to google but I'm not real sure on how to use them or what to use them for. Like the model 970 when i google it people are talking about a built in power supply and signal generator but there calling it a radio annalist rather then a transistor annalist. So they maybe talking about another bit of gear all together.

2054 is a curve tracer.  It interfaces to an oscilloscope to trace transistor/FET curves.

These appear to have been stored in suboptimal environmental conditions.

The 147A is a signal tracer, a lot of documentation online:

Ok so am I wrong in thinking the signal tracer is comparable to a continuity tester?

One of its applications, think of it as a multimeter for radio (very high frequencies). You can check the signal, probing in the various nodes of the system. It even has a power meter.
