Help with weird voltage/reading on HP 3456A
« on: September 11, 2019, 09:38:29 pm »
My HP 3456A has been reading low for a week (see photos) or so and I have no clue what I did OR if I
did anything to cause it.  :scared:

I usually null it when I’m checking resistance but that’s all I can recall doing to it. Any help would be greatly
appreciated before I start digging through the manual unaware of what I’m looking for to correct… :palm:

I have a couple of 3455s; they have more primitive math functions than the 56, but I bet the 56 still has a scaling function. Have you triggered that accidentally? If you have some constants stored as Y and Z, and scaling is enabled, this could explain the readings being off.

I would try operating the front-back switch several times. It needs movement every now and then.
