Hi everyone
« on: October 13, 2017, 06:26:45 pm »
I'm new to the community and figured I would say hello properly.  I'm located in SE Texas (on the Gulf) around the Beaumont city area.  Anyone from my neck of the woods?  I'm trying to learn electronics outside of the classroom but I know enough to know that I don't know anything.  Current project I'm stuck on:  Fixing a Tektronix 465 scope.

I think I bit off more than I can chew.....

Nice to meet everyone

You may describe what is the problem with the scope in "Repair" section.

However, I would not suggest you (nor I would dare with my own limited knowledge in electronic) to repair old analog scope with CRT - high voltage deadly shock or fire risk!

Yeah,  That's what scares me:  The CRT power supply.  After researching/reading about this scope everyone is saying replace the caps one way or another since they are WAY older than me (36 years).  I'm just going to have to take tons of pictures to make sure I can put it back together.
