I recently purchased a HM-TRP wireless transciever from Ebay. I am told that almost all modules purchased off Ebay have 3DR firmware, not the default factory firmware.

How easy it is to revert back to the factory firmware? Where can I find the firmware?

AFAIK the closed source Hope RF firmware isn't available. If you want to reflash the Si1000 on the HM-TRP then you need to buy/borrow a SiLabs debug adapter. There is an open source firmware replacement on github somewhere.
