Just for all the new users, a poll to test posting and up the post count to over 5............. :-DD
Just thought it would be nice to have for future use if needed.

it will go away, be patient

Can someone explain to me how a light bulb works? :-DD

Can someone explain to me how a light bulb works? :-DD
By magic......
You get an idea and it lights up!
-
You mean for posts like this:
My powersupply is dead, the magic smoke escaped, how can I replace that ? I bought this kit: http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm (http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm) but I can not find a place to connect it to my powersupply. Please help !!!!!
But this is from all times:
I worked in a shop as a student 30 years ago, and a women came to me. She asked if I could refill the LCD screen from her calculator with ink. (it was a broken LCD)

Your poll is missing the option:
Just post anywhere, the moderators will clean up after you
After all, deleting other people's posts is what we live for :)
-
It is there as part of the third option...........

I'd like a place to test making a post and embedding the attachment. The "preview" button doesn't show it I don't think, but I'm not sure. Absent a "test post" post, I'm using this one as such :palm:

Trying to figure out how to embed uploaded images... this doesn't seem to work right away, but works after a minute or two...

related conclusion: a 'test post' section would still be convenient.

One benefit you have on this forum is the ability to go back to any of your prior posts and edit it to your hearts content, this means you can add pictures, links or whatever else you like providing it is within the maximum size guidelines, in using this method as a test platform you can readily modify a post, save it and then have a preview without drawing attention from others or adding to the recent posts list.

This is good advice! As a first time poster, however, I could not have tested my image upload embedding by editing an earlier post ;) Therefore, a "test post" section may still be of value...

I don't understand. You can do more when you edit a post than you can when first posting it.
One clear example is uploading images to Dave's server (ie. "Attachments"). You only get a thumbnail at the original post. You can then come back and view the thumbnail to get the full sized image, copy the image address and then update the post with the [IMG] tag containing the image URL
