Those are both good choices.  Someone here probably has both and will be able to give you some comparisons based on their experience.

Your strategy of going with one entry level meter and one better meter is good - it likely makes the most sense, but you could also rationalize buying an 8008 and a 139c for starters and learn more about what specs and features you want later in a better meter.  As much as you would think a person could live with two meters it's possible you will wind up with 3 or more. :)

Might depend on on your timing for adding the second meter and what "better" meter you have in mind.

Many recommend the Probe Master multimeter probes. Unfortunately they don't work so well with the AN8008 because of the meter's low profile -- the probes don't fully seat and have a tendency to come out:

The 139c looks like it has deeper sockets.

Hi

Have you watched EEVBlog review of the an8008?

Basiclly, it is a dirt cheap dmm. It will work but how robust it is remains to be seen.
It has barely any safety input protection. The fuse is barely adequate.

The UT139C is better built and has fairly good input protection. Though it has not has safety certification, many on this forum feel that it is safe to use to measure mains voltage.

Many on this forum enthusiasticly recommend the an8008.
I feel the ut139c would be better because of the build quality and input protection.

I gave a uni t 139A to my father some time ago. I also opened it for a card check, it seems to me a nice product albeit cheap.

Fit which dmm?

The leads that come with the Uni-T are basic but ok.

I bought some cheap gold plated leads. Yes they are plated. Yes you get lower contact resistance.
No, they are not much better than the basic uni-t ones.
The lead is not as flexible and I doubt they will take 10A.

Personally I bought this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0768WXDJ5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Leads are nice and flexible. Would not trust them with 10A.

Hi

The leads that come with the ut139c should be perfectly ok.
I used the Tenma rebranded version at work and the leads are perfectly useable.

I personally have 3 Uni-trend dmms:
Ut70b (Tenma rebranded version)
Ut61e
Ut210e
The leads for all of them are actually ok. Slightly better than cheap ones you get from Ebay/Amazon.

Yes, if you want you can replace them with better quality leads. Try the Probemaster ones people here on the forum recommend.

As I said, I took a chance and tried a probe kit from Amazon, like the one you suggested, but unless someone  has tried it, it is a gamble.
The one I got seem to be pretty decent. More flexible than the UniT leads, probably the same as the original Fluke leads I have. They seem to be gold plated but like all cheap leads the gold plating is not that great. Not sure I would trust them to handle 10Amps.
I bought the kit because I needed new leads to go with the Agilent u1252a I got and wanted leads with alk the accessories. I am pleased with the kit I got, the leads are perfectly useable.

Edit: just looked at the kit you asked about again. I am not a fan of the probes that you plug onto 4mm banana plugs. Agilent/Keysight use that kind of probes and I personally do not like them.
I would definitley avoid the ones where you screw the tips into a body. They will wear and become loose. It is ok to have accessories that clip over the tips like insulated large crocodile clips but avoid probes where the probe tips screw in.
I usually look for probes that are moulded on the end of the leads. I have lots of the cheap ones from Amazon and they are useable.
If I remember and I can find the insulation meter at work, I will take a pair of the cheap leads into work and test the insulation. We have a insulation break down tester as well (goes up to 6KV), could try the cheap leads on that if I can find someone to supervise.
