How gentle can a PnP be?
« on: December 05, 2019, 04:00:21 pm »
Bit of a newbie question but I don't have a lot of experience with PnP or robotics

I'm asking if there are an PnP machines out there that can be programmed to pick up the components more gently as standard

I thinking of using a PnP machine to position silicone Sires (look like chips but light can pass through them on an IR/ LFI reader) onto cartridges of a standard microscope slide size (25mmx75mm)

From what I see, the PnP nozzle has to press down on the component, then pull vac to get it off the reel then stick the component down on to the paste.

The cartridges used will have exposed adhesive to hold the chips down. My only concern is how forceful a PnP machine is.

I'm unsure if I should be looking at a 5-axis robot arm and allow it to pick & place the sires onto the cartridge.
