Just turned 45.

I remember getting my first taste of electronics with a Tandy radio shack 100-in-1 kit back when I was 13.
Then came the Dick Smith Electronics Super-80 computer kit and the rest is history.

Been playing with electronics since I was 12, but have only started to get more in depth since my degree started, due to access to equipment.

40 here. I've been more of a computer geek than an electronics nut most of my life (and such is my business) with some intersecting points throughout the years but I'm really starting to transition over the other way at this stage in the game.

Loved electronics as a kid but never got seriously into it. About 2 years ago i made a scope from a kit to diagnose a fault on my car and it rekindled my interest. Totally obssesed with it now as a hobby, and I'm also being paid to develop a TCPIP app on a pic as a result of my hobby ... cool

I'm the same.  About the same age too.  I went to college for something totally retarded, not recognizing that engineering is that I really wanted to do.  I've tried a few times to teach myself electronics, but was put off by some really bad books.  It seems to be making more sense to me recently.

Well.. Let's just say that my Weller Magnastat iron is around 30 years old and I purchased it as a new. 

Amazing machine that is.. Been with me all these years, never any problems.

I've read lots of your posts that suggest you're very knowledgeable so not taking anything away with the following statement:

Higher education is such an opportunity, unfortunately, there is no way for someone to understand its full potential until much later in life. Stick with it (do yourself a favor).

I do know the importance of higher education, going through this technical college is a pity and waste of time and a walk in the park, i'm only here to get a certificate then go onto getting a diploma

Some college only known as "ITE" the stuff they teach there is hopelessly basic, one could know the syllabus within a month from the net
I haven't though of a university but i did at one point but i might just evaluate the advantages over disadvantages ( there WAS a big preference for diploma holders compared to degree holders because the companies apparently see your education level first instead of your achievements now that most EE's in singapore fresh from university have '0' practical experience, it's that sad )
