how to create an equivalent 3 phase load using bulb ?

(1/1)

vis5254:
worry is that i dont have a three phase induction motor model in proteus software . so i wish to virtually create a 415v rated three phase induction motor by using just bulb (in star mode perhaps) . Proteus asks for voltage and resistance as input value . plz help

Zero999:
Please provide more information. The electrical characteristics of a motor depend on its power rating, design (e.g. a copper bar rotor will have less slip, than an aluminium one) and mechanical load.

rstofer:
I don't know if it matters but a real motor has an inrush current up around 6 times full load current.  It declines as the motor accelerates but the rate of acceleration will be a function of inertia.  Big fans take a LONG time to get up to speed and, because of this, we often use wye-delta motor starters.  The motor starts up with the windings connected in a wye configuration and, after some time, the contactors charge the connection to delta.

How may horsepower (or kW) are you trying to simulate?
