How to energize this relay
« on: December 29, 2024, 07:09:59 am »
I want to use 2 of these Dowkey relays to switch a amp around a amateur radio transverter.
Never used this kind before.  Do I need some type of TTL control circuit after
12 VDC is connected to white and black?   Thanks......Jim

The datasheet can be found here (Digikey).

The description is very terse, but, yes, you need to provide both power, 12 V for your model at terminals + (1) and - (2), and two TTL control signals at the A (3) and B (4) inputs, according to the truth table below.

No indication of the needed drive is given, but I would assume any reasonable 5 V logic family would able to drive it.
The 12 V current consumption is about 220 mA.

Interesting that they don't show the 0 0 state or 1 1 state! I would guess 1 1 is illegal and 0 0 is open?

It's a latching relay with mechanical linkage so the other states would not do anything exciting. Seems to have built in voltage reg and timer.
"switch" for pins 5,6,7 seem to be indicator (position) feedback.

Thanks for all the great info. Here is my plan to key the relays. I'm just showing one of relays.
Maybe a little "Rube Goldberg" but, it should work to flip the states from 5 to 0.
Sorry I can't seem to rotate the pic.
