how to make a pulse motor

Hi
so i have seen all the videos about pulse motor and i think there really cool. But how do i make one? do i have magnets that are all have there north pole facing out on a disk that can spin freely. then i have a electromagnet with a reed switch close enough so when the magnets on the disk come by they turn on the electromagnet and then the electromagnet  makes the whole think spin?

You mean a brushless DC motor?

Using reed switches is not a good idea because they're not designed to work at such high frequencies and will soon fail. Use hall effect sensors which are semiconductor devices and will not wear out.
