How to test negative power rail with electronic load
(1/1)
belzrebuth:
Hi all,
I've got a XHDZ-FZ-2D electronic load module from eBay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-1V-100V-Constant-Current-Source-Electronic-Load-Board-50W-Max-6A-Power-Tester-/232419643651
and wondering if I can use it to with a negative voltage.
The DUT is floating so can I just reverse the leads on the load input terminals?
The schematic for the module are here:

Zero999:
Yes, it can be used to test a negative supply.

No, don't reverse the terminals. Connect the positive to the 0V rail and the negative to the negative power rail.
belzrebuth:
Thanks!
Mechatrommer:
dont forget to add heatsink to the fleabay module, it can burn out pretty quick for higher load..
belzrebuth:
I have it for quite some time actually; it's in an enclosure with a big heatsink attached to it so no worries.
