I had one a long time ago. Sold it due to the hassle of booting up an old computer with parallel port. I wouldn't bother today for the same reason. With a modern computer and parallel port adapter I don't think it would work, at least not with the original software. Attached is an old document with an overview how to read the data over LPT.

I think there was also a project for a linux version of the software.

The website is still online http://www.mtoussaint.de/qtdso.html

I can't remember if I ever tried the linux software.
